Job summary

UES in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Experienced CMT Field Technician to support engineering, materials testing, and inspections. You will perform field and lab testing, collect samples, and help ensure compliance with project specs and safety standards.

This role requires independence in a fast-paced outdoor setting, strong attention to detail, and ability to mentor junior technicians as needed; travel up to 70% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in construction, engineering, geology preferred.
• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or related.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing certification preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures.
• Collect, label, and transport material samples to laboratories for analysis, following proper procedures to maintain sample integrity.
• Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly, following manufacturer and company guidelines.
• Complete detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to project managers and stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers, providing real-time updates on job status, site conditions, and any issues encountered.
• May mentor and support junior field technicians, providing guidance on field procedures, testing methods, and safety best practices.
• Follow all OSHA, company, and client safety protocols, ensuring PPE usage, hazard awareness, and field safety guidelines.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules, including early morning, weekend, or overnight work as needed.
