Job summary

Consor is seeking a Survey Party Chief for our Phoenix Downtown office to lead surveying on heavy civil transportation projects, including bridges and roadways. You will manage field crews, verify locations, and mentor staff while ensuring design alignment and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in field surveying with CST III or LSIT credentials, and strong experience with robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, and data collection.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of field surveying experience or LSIT.
• NSPS CST Level III (or RLS, NICET Level III) certification.
• Strong experience with heavy construction staking/layout for transportation structures.
• Proficiency with survey instruments: robotic/conventional total stations, GPS/GNSS, levels, data collectors.
• Ability to enter survey data accurately into field books and computers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform field surveying at assigned project locations.
• Lead and assist a field survey crew in locating monuments, setting traverse/control points, and preparing targets for aerial mapping.
• Direct survey activities on transportation projects including bridges and roadways.
• Adjust workflow and field methods to changing project conditions.
• Verify field locations and compare findings against design plans.
• Mentor junior staff and demonstrate proper use of surveying equipment.
• Establish or direct setup of traffic control to ensure safe work conditions.
• Review crew work for accuracy and compliance with standards.
