Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial mechanical projects in the Maryland area. You will oversee day-to-day site activities, coordinate crews and subcontractors, develop schedules, monitor productivity, and ensure milestones are met.

You will also drive safety and quality by enforcing OSHA requirements, conducting inspections, and ensuring installations meet drawings and codes. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervising commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping or MEP systems.
• Proven leadership of field crews and day-to-day operations.
• Ability to read/view construction drawings, specs, and documents.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• OSHA 30 preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations from startup through closeout.
• Lead field crews, foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans.
• Monitor field productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate work with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, engineers, and project partners.
• Identify field challenges early and develop solutions to keep projects moving.
