Job summary

Powers & Sons Construction is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial construction projects in the Greater Chicago market. The role focuses on safety, schedule, and quality, coordinating subcontracts, vendors, and client representatives throughout the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings extensive commercial construction experience, proactive leadership, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of commercial superintendent experience.
• Experience managing ground-up and/or renovation commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate subcontractors, inspectors, and site personnel for efficient workflow.
• Conduct regular site meetings with stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and resolve field issues.
• Ensure work conforms to plans, specs, and codes.
• Maintain daily reports and progress updates.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and closeout activities.
