Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, seeks a hands-on Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations in Florida. You will manage craft and subcontractor teams, ensure safety, schedule adherence, and project delivery to high client standards.

In this role you will interpret drawings, coordinate on-site activities, monitor productivity, and promote a safe, efficient work environment across multi-project sites. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of supervisory experience in the construction field.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods).
• Thorough knowledge of all safety requirements.
• The ability to motivate employees and handle any situation that occurs on the project.

Responsibilities

• Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives and other contractors.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions.
• Supervise craft employees and other contractors as required by the contract.
• May authorize and approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
• Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and recommend construction methods and equipment as required.
• Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards.
• Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations; notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
• Work closely with the Safety Director to create a constant awareness including rigid enforcement of the requirements of Ajax Building Company’s Safety Policy.
• Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
• Perform and/or supervise building layout and field engineering.
