Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Field Services Technician to support installation, transition, and sustainment of next-generation Voice Communication Switch (VCS) systems. The role focuses on site preparation, cutover success, and decommissioning of legacy systems in demanding environments.

The incumbent will work autonomously in remote field locations, performing testing, diagnostics, and customer-facing training with a strong emphasis on uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD, 12 years in lieu of degree.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain public trust clearance.
• Hands-on experience with Voice Communication Switch (VCS) systems or similar voice platforms.
• Experience supporting system cutovers, migrations, or technology refresh efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support site surveys, site preparation, and system installation.
• Execute and support VCS system cutovers from legacy platforms to next-gen systems.
• Perform decommissioning of legacy voice systems.
• Conduct independent testing and validation for power, cabling, equipment, and site alignment.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of VCS and telecom/IT infrastructure.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify voice, network, and hardware faults.
