This position reports to: Field Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work of medium to high complexity following work instructions and ABB guidelines. You will deliver excellent customer service and work with customers to identify opportunities for improving system and operational performance. The work model is remote, contributing to the Electrification Service division in Tempe, AZ.

You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Providing knowledge of and conducting work activities in compliance with ABB HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), ABB Way, and Safety policies.
2. Executing projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment such as transformers, switchgear, OCBs, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, relays, and power management controls.
3. Leading outages with other engineers and contractors, managing project documentation, reports, and administrative tasks thoroughly and timely.
4. Planning and performing multifunctional field assignments, directing work of other engineers and labor as needed.
5. Expanding technical knowledge and industry-standard engineering abilities.
6. Instructing internal and external training programs to share field engineering and product knowledge.
7. Managing administrative functions like reports, material orders, quotations, and cost control activities efficiently.
8. Controlling costs and safeguarding company investments.
9. Working with customers and ABB teams to identify new service opportunities, develop proposals, and execute scope of work.

Qualifications for the role

• High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years relevant experience in field engineering.
• Technical skills in testing power distribution and delivery, including LV and MV breakers, switchgear, relays, and transformers. Experience with repair and refurbishment of OEM equipment like Siemens, GE, ABB, etc.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines and controls is a plus.
• Up to 75% domestic travel.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of industrial customer base in the geographical area.
• Must have existing work authorization in the US; no visa sponsorship provided.
