Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to install, test and commission power distribution equipment at customer sites across the US. Based in Cheyenne, Reno, or Phoenix, the role requires extensive fieldwork and up to 80% travel.

You will develop test plans for protection/control relays, perform hands-on commissioning using Omicron, Doble, and DIGSI, and support multiple manufacturers alongside Siemens SIPROTEC. A strong MV/LV background and safety discipline are essential.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in MV/LV power distribution and switchgear.
  • Field-based commissioning & testing experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%.
  • Experience with protection and control relays.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, commission, and start up distribution equipment at customer sites.
  • Develop and execute test plans for protection and control relay systems.
  • Perform hands-on commissioning using relay testing equipment and software (Omicron, Doble, DIGSI).
  • Support protection and control systems from Siemens SIPROTEC, SEL, GE Multilin.
  • Develop switching procedures and MOPs; contribute to electrical safety practices.
  • Support greenfield/brownfield installations, warranty responses, maintenance, and retrofits.
  • Document test results and system conditions with clear reporting.
