Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Field Service Engineer in the San Francisco area. In this hands-on, field‑based role, you’ll support customers by commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting power distribution and protection systems across a wide range of industrial environments.

The role is highly travel‑oriented with national coverage and opportunities to work on greenfield and brownfield projects. Requires 5+ years in MV/LV distribution and relay commissioning.

Qualifications

• Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution and switchgear.
• Experience with protection and control relay commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with relay testing equipment and software (Omicron, Doble, DIGSI, Protection Suite).
• Willingness to travel up to 30–50% nationally.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, and start up LV/MV power distribution equipment.
• Perform commissioning and troubleshooting of protection and control relays.
• Use relay testing equipment and software tools.
• Support protection and control systems from multiple manufacturers.
• Develop switching procedures and safety guidelines.
• Document work performed and test results.
