Job summary

Quantum-Si is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to scale our global service organization. The role combines hands-on field support with developing service processes and infrastructure for our growing installed base of advanced life science instrumentation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in field service for biotech equipment, strong experience with fluidics and optics, and is comfortable traveling up to 70%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field required.
• 5+ years of field service experience supporting capital equipment in biotech or related industry.
• Strong experience with fluidics and optical instrumentation systems.
• Experience connecting instruments to enterprise or cloud-based networks in secure environments.
• Proficiency with CRM or service management systems such as Salesforce.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport for international travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced life science instrumentation in customer labs.
• Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, upgrades, and system validations.
• Manage relocations and ensure systems meet specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system integration issues in the field.
• Serve as a technical escalation point and drive rapid resolutions with internal teams.
• Develop and refine service procedures, manuals, and troubleshooting protocols.
• Define service contracts with product management and leadership.
• Support global service models including training, parts strategies, and depot operations.
• Document service activities in CRM; track uptime, response time, and resolutions.
• Provide feedback to R&D for product improvements and field insights.
