Job summary

InstantServe LLC is seeking an experienced Field Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure, highly available network infrastructure supporting ITS, including traffic signals, CCTV, and IoT devices in the District of Columbia.

You will deploy and troubleshoot Cisco DMVPN Phase 2/3, IPsec VPNs, GRE tunnels, and dynamic routing, while coordinating field installations and ensuring compliance with DDOT security policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 11 years of overall professional experience.
• 6 years in ITS, LTE/5G failover, network automation, fiber-optic networking, documentation.
• 8 years with high-availability network design and disaster recovery.
• 5 years with IoT security and network segmentation.
• 6 years with a state or municipal Department of Transportation.
• Active CCNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, highly available network infrastructure.
• Deploy and troubleshoot DMVPN Phase 2/3, IPsec VPNs, GRE tunnels, and dynamic routing.
• Manage Metro Ethernet, WAN, fiber and LTE/5G failover solutions.
• Configure VLANs, VRFs, QoS, and network segmentation; ensure redundancy.
• Perform field installations, upgrades, migrations, and circuit turn-ups.
• Support ITS assets like traffic signals, CCTV, and IoT devices.
• Automate network operations using Ansible or Python.
• Maintain documentation and comply with DDOT and District security policies.
