PhoenixAI in Menlo Park, CA, seeks an experienced Field Marketing Manager to own our in‑person event programs end‑to‑end. This senior, hands‑on role requires managing high‑stakes events in the data, infrastructure, or SaaS space and coordinating with DevRel, Product, and Sales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field or event marketing experience at a fast-growing tech startup.
• Experience organizing events for an open-source or developer community.
• Existing network in the open-source data ecosystem (e.g., StarRocks, Apache projects) preferred.
• Track record of running events end-to-end in fast-moving environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with technical stakeholders.
• Strong vendor and budget management skills.
• Familiarity with event tools (Luma, Bevy, Splash) and marketing automation / CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce).
• Comfortable engaging with technical speakers, partners, customers, sales and leadership.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle of in-person events — strategy, budget, execution, reporting.
• Build and run a monthly technical meetup program in the Bay Area and other cities.
• Plan and host quarterly executive receptions for key customers.
• Lead presence at major industry conferences and partner events (e.g., AWS re:Invent).
• Source speakers, co-hosts, and venues from open-source and developer communities.
• Define goals for each event and design metrics around those goals.
• Handle venue selection, sponsorships, vendor relations, catering, and travel logistics.
• Develop event schedules and align internal teams and partners.
• Produce landing pages, invites, social content, and email outreach.
• Collaborate with Sales to define target accounts and follow-up plans.
• Capture and repurpose event content and coordinate cross-promotion with webinars.
• Track performance against event goals (MQLs/SQLs, pipeline, awareness).
• Maintain an up-to-date calendar of conferences and community gatherings.
