Job summary

Metropolitan Family Services in Illinois is seeking a Senior Field Manager for the Crisis Prevention Response Unit (CPRU) at the Metropolitan Peace Academy. You will coordinate field operations and guide CPRU staff to ensure community safety and program fidelity.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of successful street outreach.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Graduate of the Metropolitan Peace Academy preferred.
  • Experience or training in crisis intervention preferred.
  • Knowledge of nonviolence, restorative justice, and trauma-informed practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and organize the daily activities of Field Managers and Crisis Responders within CPRU.
  • Conduct regular field compliance checks for MPI partner organizations and communities.
  • Provide oversight into the deployment strategy for assigned CPRU staff members.
  • Conduct strategy planning and debrief meetings.
  • Maintain situational awareness in fast-paced environments with public activity.
  • Serve as on-ground liaison with Regional Leads and CPD to inform CPRU needs.
  • Coordinate with public safety, emergency responders, law enforcement, and community partners.
  • Provide technical support to implement new strategies and document program fidelity.
  • Manage relationships with community organizations, gang intervention leaders, law enforcement, and academics.
  • Other duties assigned.

SHIFT SCHEDULE (VARIED HOURS):
  • Shift 1 could be: 12pm - 8 pm
  • Shift 2 could be: 7:30pm - 3:30am
SALARY:

The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $73,000 - $81,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate and organize the daily activities of Field Managers and Crisis Responders within CPRU.
  • Conducts regular field compliance checks for MPI partner organizations and communities.
  • Provide oversight into the deployment strategy for assigned CPRU staff members.
  • Conduct strategy planning and debrief meetings.
  • Maintain situational awareness while working in confined, fast-paced environments with continuous public activity.
  • Serve as points of contact in real-time (coordination with other Regional Leads, CPD) on the ground to inform the field management CPRU team of any technical support needed.
  • Coordinate with public safety personnel, emergency responders, law enforcement, and community partners to ensure appropriate interventions.
  • Provide technical support to the field in implementing new strategies that demonstrate program model fidelity, golden thread documentation, collaboration across communities and use of evaluation feedback to inform practice.
  • Facilitate and manage relationships with a broad array of stakeholders including community-based organizations, gang intervention leaders, law enforcement, academics and other subject matter experts.
  • Other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 4+ years of successful street outreach, required.
  • A graduate of the Metropolitan Peace Academy, preferred.
  • Experience with leading or supervising a team, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Significant experience working with high-risk, street-involved individuals (Or currently enrolled in a bachelorette program), preferred.
  • Experience or training in crisis intervention, preferred.
TRANSPORTATION/TRAVELLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Driving for work is not required with a personally owned vehicle.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Firsthand knowledge of the community and knowledge of current street conflicts, required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the principles of nonviolence, restorative justice, and trauma-informed practices.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
