Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC) required.
• One year of additional technical training in the area of assignment required.
• Four years of equipment operation/driving experience or technical maintenance experience required.
• A valid NC Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record is required for facilities maintenance and radio systems assignments.
• A valid NC Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record is required for some crew chief/crew lead assignments.

Responsibilities

• May perform lead duties including assigning and inspecting work, coordinating safety training, and ensuring quality control and compliance with applicable operations, policies, and procedures.
• Plan, design, install, modify, and/or maintain radio communications network, traffic signal, and other electrical, plumbing, and related systems, equipment, and devices.
• Coordinate tree removal, planting, pruning operations, and debris loading, hauling, and disposal operations; perform carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, concrete work, welding, masonry and other trades work.
• Operate complex equipment, including aerial lift truck, knuckle boom loader, chipper, chainsaw, crane, and stump grinder.
• Provides customer service; responds to customer questions, concerns, and trouble calls; troubleshoots complex issues; and provides information on policies and procedures.
• As assigned, may serve as a lead worker, assigning work and monitoring work completion.
