Job summary

ERM is seeking a Senior Consultant, Field Lead Archaeologist to lead diverse field investigations across the Southwest and support regulatory analyses for U.S. projects.

This full-time role blends fieldwork with office tasks, offering competitive pay and a benefits package. You will work with SHPO, BLM, and other agencies while traveling to field sites nationwide, contributing to ERM's cultural resources practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
• 3+ years (4+ preferred) professional archaeology experience.
• Field Lead experience in the Southwest.
• Eligibility for BLM/ARPA/state permits.
• Strong NHPA Section 106 regulatory knowledge.
• Experience authoring agency-reviewed reports.
• Able to lead field efforts solo or in teams.
• Willingness to travel across the United States.
• Valid driver’s license;外 occasional heavy fieldwork possible.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery and monitoring.
• Prepare technical report sections for cultural resource investigations.
• Perform archival and desktop research to support analyses.
• Collaborate with SHPO, BLM and other agencies.
• Support environmental permitting and compliance processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (planners, GIS, engineers).
• Represent ERM in client, stakeholder and agency interactions.
• Contribute to business development in cultural heritage services.
