Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Nashville, TN is seeking a Field Layout Engineer 2 to perform routine and non-routine site layout tasks, establish building corners and permanent reference points, and maintain layout control across projects.

You will verify elevations, lay out column centers and walls, check alignments, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accuracy, quality and safety while applying LEAN construction principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management (preferred).
• 5+ years of construction layout experience required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience verifying elevations, layout and baseline measurements.
• Ability to read drawings and coordinate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Plans, sets up, and maintains layout control for assigned project(s).
• Establishes building corners and permanent reference points for back checks of location.
• Verify elevations shown on drawings for roadways and utilities.
• Lays out column center lines and walls; verify exterior skin encroachment.
• Plumbs structural steel frame and check column alignments.
• Sets and maintains benchmarks and control lines on each floor.
• Checks slab for elevation and alignment during pours.
• Assist with coordination of shop drawings and verify accuracy.
