Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Field/Lab Materials Testing Technician in Madison, AL. This role involves testing soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, with data reporting to the Project Manager.

You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and project staff to ensure quality and compliance. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of relevant experience, proficiency with Word/Excel, and valid driver’s license, with NICET/ICC/AWS/ASNT/ACI certifications highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience using laptops and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic data analysis to verify accuracy before submission to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and team members as directed.
• May train lower level technicians and lead activities on projects.
• Maintains equipment and calibration; adheres to safety standards.
