Job summary
ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician in Charleston, SC, to perform inspections related to soils, foundations, concrete, and masonry. Responsibilities include reviewing project documents, conducting field tests, and reporting results. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, with preference for those with relevant inspection experience and certifications. Qualifications
Experience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt materials preferred.
ACI Field Grade I Certification, preferred, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
ICC Certifications preferred, any or all of the following: ICC Soils, ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Structural Masonry, ICC Spray‑Applied Fireproofing, ICC Structural Steel and Bolting.
Responsibilities
Review and understand project drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
Perform Special Inspections in the field for compliance.
Document observations and inspections of construction.
Skills
Inspection and testing of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Education
High School Diploma, GED, or Associate Degree
