Job summary

Dewberry's Daphne office seeks a Construction Inspector / Manager to provide complete construction administration and inspection services for site civil projects. Responsibilities include resident inspection, reviewing shop drawings, documenting field activities, and coordinating with clients and contractors under engineer supervision.

The role requires strong knowledge of site, roadway, and utility construction, effective communication, and readiness to advance to oversee inspection staff.

Qualifications

• Accomplished 3+ years as construction professional in site construction or supervision.
• High School diploma required; a Bachelor's degree preferred in construction/engineering management.
• Ability to obtain ALDOT certifications.
• Knowledge of roadway and pipeline construction methods, materials, standards and specs.
• Working knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Adobe, Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Able to interpret construction plans and shop drawings.
• Willing to learn Dewberry standards and software.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site resident inspection for projects in the Daphne office.
• Work 30–40 hours per week in the field with overtime as needed.
• Assist with engineering and project management tasks when not inspecting.
• Prepare cost estimates and review pay applications.
• Organize meetings, document minutes, photos, and reports.
• Review and approve QA reports and ensure conformance to plans.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and design engineers.
• Maintain project files and prepare as-built drawings.
