Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Project Engineer for our Municipal and Civil Engineering practice in the Daphne, AL office. You will contribute to grading, roadway, storm water, and utility design, while supporting permitting and code research.

Strong communication within a design team is essential. Ideal candidates have a PE license or reciprocity, 5–10 years of public-sector project experience, and proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Alabama PE license or ability to obtain reciprocity.
• 5–10 years’ experience with increasing project and client responsibilities for public sector projects.
• Track record of managing projects (scope, schedule, budget).
• Construction administration experience in municipal work is required.
• Strong verbal and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of Alabama DOT specs, policies, procedures.
• Proficiency with Revit, GIS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD or MicroStation; Inroads and Bluebeam are a plus.
• StormCAD, PondPack, SewerGEMS for stormwater modeling.
• Traffic Modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead grading, roadway and drainage design for municipal projects.
• Coordinate with project design team and stakeholders.
• Prepare permits, write specifications and submit permit applications.
• Ensure project design complies with DOT specs and budget constraints.
