Colliers Engineering & Design in Maine is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team. You will inspect and monitor transportation, bridge, utility, and municipal projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
5+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience.
ACI and NETTCP concrete inspector certification, or NETTCP paving certification.
10-hour OSHA certification required.
Experience with MaineDOT and/or municipal projects preferred.
Valid US driver’s license required.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Read and understand plans and specifications to determine information for inspection work items during and after construction.
Monitor and inspect construction projects, including quality assurance.
Ensure contractors follow the project plans and specifications in accordance with applicable construction procedures, methods, and codes.
Track workers and equipment on project.
Review testing reports (soils, aggregate, steel, concrete, HMA, masonry, etc.).
Document the construction progress with site reports, photos, etc.
Monitor construction schedule to ensure project is on schedule.
Facilitate communications between owners, contractors, and designers on a project.
