Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks Construction Inspectors in Maine to support transportation, bridge, utility, and municipal projects. You will perform field inspections, document work with reports and photos, and ensure compliance with specifications across multiple sites.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1+ years of inspection experience, ACI/NETTCP, OSHA-10, and a valid US driver’s license. MaineDOT experience is a plus, with a collaborative field-focused team environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience is required.
  • ACI and/or NETTCP paving certifications are required.
  • 10-hour OSHA certification is required.
  • Knowledge of federally aided transportation projects is preferred.
  • Experience with MaineDOT or municipal clients is a plus.
  • Valid US driver’s license required.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for construction inspection of bridge and/or highway projects.
  • Measure and document quantities with reports, photos, and sketches.
  • Oversee and coordinate documentation of inspection activities.
  • Ensure work complies with specifications.
  • Apply project plans and company guidelines to the work and make decisions.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate with all levels on the project.
  • Coordinate on-site activities and resolve issues as they arise.

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Maine!

When you join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team, you’ll help deliver the infrastructure that keeps communities moving! In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative, field-focused group supporting transportation, bridge, utility, and municipal construction projects across the region. Our team partners closely with clients, contractors, and local agencies to solve challenges in real time, uphold quality and safety standards, and help bring important public infrastructure improvements from plan to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects.
  • Measure and calculate quantities, and document work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
  • Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
  • Ensures work is completed in accordance with standard specifications.
  • Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
  • Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.

Compensation: $26.00 to $35.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
