Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Field Inspector based in the Greater St. Louis, MO region.

The role includes field inspections at client sites, data collection, and detailed reporting. Candidates should have heavy industrial inspection background and strong safety, communication, and leadership skills. Travel to in-state and out-of-state sites is required; some out-of-state travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AS or BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
• Technical degree preferred.
• 8+ years of inspection experience with safe performance record.
• Experience with structural inspections, API inspections, welding, steel and industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Able to travel to client sites, including out-of-state.
• Pass post-offer drug and alcohol testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Detect defects in field structures and recommend remedial measures.
• Generate accurate inspection reports using Orbital’s software.
• Read and comprehend drawings accurately.
• Learn job material through on-the-job training.
• Interface with client representatives as needed.
• Work safely in industrial environments and travel to client sites.
