Qualifications

• Four years as a government building inspector with one year in a lead supervisory role.
• Education: completion of the twelfth grade; college coursework in inspection is desirable.
• License/Certificate: Building Inspector certification per CA law; ICC or CASp desirable; valid CA driver's license.
• Licenses and certifications must be maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise and coordinate field inspectors for code compliance.
• Provide technical guidance, perform inspections of major projects and resolve issues.
• Develop staff through training, evaluate performance, and improve procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers and the public.

Education
