Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector for our CEI team to operate at on-site project locations. You will perform complex highway construction inspections, analyze materials, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications across multiple project sites.

You will travel 20–40% as needed, bring strong math and communication skills, and read construction drawings. A valid driver’s license and applicable certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET may be required by client/jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic/international travel may be required (20%–40%).

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and construction conform to plans, specs, and provisions.
• Perform complex calculations and use advanced equipment for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to knowledge level for the assignment.
• Review drawings and prepare for inspections.
• Document results and communicate findings to supervisor.
