Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector for our CEI team to support on-site construction inspections across roadway projects in the United States. You will inspect materials, monitor construction operations, and ensure compliance with plans, specs and contract provisions.

Expect to perform complex inspections, read drawings, and communicate findings. The role requires travel (20–40%), a valid license, and 12+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Highway Agency or NICET certifications in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and construction conform to plans and specs.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations.
• Work under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
