Job summary

Mission Critical Solutions in Tampa, FL is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician for full‑time service, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in occupied facilities.

You will interpret drawings, perform inspections per NFPA 72/AHJ, and program systems to ensure code compliance and customer satisfaction. Strong communication with customers and internal teams is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• FASA/BASA certification required.
• Ability to obtain Florida JLA badge.
• NICET certification preferred.
• FCC GROL certification preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications preferred for Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Notifier, FCI-Gamewell, Simplex, Siemens, EST.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and service fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Perform annual, semi-annual, and quarterly tests per NFPA 72 and AHJ requirements.
• Interpret system drawings, as-built documentation, submittals, specifications, schematics, and manuals.
• Identify deficiencies, document findings, and provide service reports and corrective actions.
• Program, reprogram, and modify fire alarm systems to support service work and code compliance.
• Respond to service calls involving fire alarm and related low-voltage systems.
• Support monitoring account setup, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate service activities with customers, facility reps, AHJs, and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, OSHA, and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
