Job summary

Acclaim Technical Services in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Senior Field Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, edge switches, and telecom systems to support customer operations. This role requires 30-40% CONUS travel and a proven hands-on background on complex programs.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with other engineers, performing onsite testing, and providing hardware and software support.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; or if no degree, 8-10 years of related experience.
• 8+ years as an engineer supporting technical programs.
• Experience with IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP.
• Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate data centers for the installation of equipment.
• Install applicable equipment (with racks if needed).
• Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers.
• Install and connect applicable cables.
• Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
• Add/remove physical connectivity to various networks for users.
• Perform physical setup and configuration of desktop hardware and software to include external peripherals.
• Develop solutions to technical issues with hardware and software in multiple areas or disciplines.
• Build workstations per established procedures.
• Provide software and hardware support.

The Senior Field Engineer will deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, edge switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer operations. This is a fast-paced program that requires someone who works well in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; or if no degree, 8-10 years of related experience performing engineering functions on programs of similar size, scope, and complexity.
• 8+ years as an engineer supporting technical programs.
• Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP.
• Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience with commercial PBX and associated telephones, VOIP/data telephony.
• Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection.
• Working knowledge of CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment.
• Experience working with SONET rings and associated hardware.
• Experience using Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office.

Clearance Required

Current TS/SCI with Poly is required.
