Job summary

Acclaim Technical Services is seeking a Phone Technician with a current TS/SCI w/ Poly to support our Network Solutions Division in Northern Virginia. The role covers telephone installation, maintenance, and hardware troubleshooting across VoIP and legacy systems.

The candidate should demonstrate strong cabling knowledge, experience with endpoints, and the ability to resolve complex telecom issues while traveling between customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience with VoIP and legacy telephone systems.
• Ability to install endpoints including desktop IT equipment and printers.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware/network/telecommunications issues.
• Familiarity with cabling methods and reading cable run lists.

Responsibilities

• Support telephone installation, maintenance, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Perform infrastructure tasks: pulling, terminating, and dressing cabling per standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues including faulty connections and dropped calls.
• Provision and configure telephony features: call routing, voicemail, extensions.
• Travel locally between customer buildings in Northern Virginia for project support.

We are actively recruiting for a Phone Technician with a current TS/SCI w/ Poly to support our Network Solutions Division, based in Northern Virgina.

Responsibilities

• Support all facets of telephone installation, maintenance, and hardware troubleshooting a variety of telephone hardware (VoIP and legacy systems).
• Execute infrastructure tasks, including pulling, terminating, and dressing cabling in strict accordance with industry regulations and Sponsor standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including faulty connections, dropped calls, and hardware malfunctions.
• Provision and configure telephony features, including call routing, voicemail systems, extensions, and standard phone features.
• Local travel is required between customer buildings throughout Northern Virginia, with the potential for temporary assignments to alternate locations in support of special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of various cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and reading/understanding cable run lists.
• Experience with installing endpoints including but not limited to desktop IT equipment, printers, VoIP and digital phones, network switches.
• Experience resolving technical problems and answering queries involving computer hardware, network, and telecommunications systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with implementation on the Sponsor's network LAN infrastructure.
• Ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to quickly learn new skills while on the job

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time. Constantly operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices majority of the time, position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
• Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50+ pounds, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts.Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
