Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Construction Manager Lead to provide senior field leadership for CMS supporting post‑Hurricane Lowell damage assessment, stabilization, facilities repair, and recovery operations across Kauaʻi. You will coordinate construction execution and serve as the primary interface between CMS, contractors, subcontractors, and Government representatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction management experience.
• Experience leading multiple construction activities and teams.
• Experience supporting Federal/DoD construction or recovery programs preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sequencing, scheduling, cost, quality, safety, and field execution.
• Ability to operate effectively in emergency, recovery, and resource‑constrained environments.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates construction execution across multiple work locations.
• Serves as primary field interface between CMS team, contractors, subcontractors, and Government representatives.
• Leads field execution of facilities assessment, stabilization, repair, restoration, and recovery activities.
• Coordinates multiple construction teams and dispersed work sites.
• Translates Government priorities and approved scopes into executable field activities.
• Directs daily construction coordination, sequencing, scheduling, and resource requirements.
• Coordinates contractors, subcontractors, specialty trades, logistics, safety, and quality control activities.
• Reviews construction plans, work packages, schedules, estimates, and repair approaches for constructability and execution.
• Monitors progress, workmanship, schedule performance, and resource utilization.
• Identifies construction risks, conflicts, deficiencies, and potential schedule impacts and drives timely resolution.
• Coordinates emergency repairs and mission-critical restoration activities requiring rapid mobilization.
• Conducts site walks, progress meetings, quality reviews, and coordination meetings with Government and contractor personnel.
• Ensures construction activities comply with contract requirements, approved plans, safety requirements, and applicable Government standards.
• Provides daily status and executive-level reporting on progress, risks, constraints, and recovery priorities.
• Supports transition from emergency stabilization to permanent repairs and closeout.
