Job summary

Talent Match Recruiting is seeking a Senior Field Commissioning Engineer in the Greater Milwaukee area. The role involves leading on-site commissioning of custom automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, and vision subs, with a blend of shop-floor debugging and field deployments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting complex automation, is proficient with Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal, and can travel up to 80% across North

Qualifications

5+ years field experience in commissioning, troubleshooting and integrating custom automation.
Strong PLC diagnostics with Rockwell/Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal.
Ability to read electrical prints and schematics quickly and accurately.
Willingness to travel 50–80% to customer sites across North America; some international trips possible.
Residence within daily commuting distance of Greater Milwaukee; U.S. citizen or green card holder.

Responsibilities

Lead internal commissioning, live-wire debugging and I/O validation before shop floor release.
Calibrate multi-axis robotics and perform EOAT checks; verify roadmaps on PLCs and drives.
Troubleshoot PLC logic, servo drives, vision, pneumatics, and safety interlocks in field setups.
Oversee onsite installations and training for customer engineers and maintenance staff.
Coordinate with mechanical design, project managers, and shop teams to isolate issues.
Track testing hours and submit detailed field progress logs to stakeholders.
