Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Greater Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Senior Field Commissioning Engineer for PLCs, robotics, and automation. Base pay up to $59/hour with overtime, direct-hire, blended hybrid work.

You will lead commissioning, calibrate multi-axis robotics, diagnose PLC logic, read electrical prints, and travel 50–80% to client sites across North America while collaborating with design and shop teams in a fast-paced, family-owned OEM environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field commissioning and integration of custom automation systems.
• Strong PLC diagnostics, I/O tracing, and logic modifications for major platforms.
• Ability to read complex electrical prints and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to travel 50–80% to client sites across NA and abroad.
• Residence within commuting distance of Greater Milwaukee; valid license and citizenship/green card.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal commissioning, live-wire debugging, and I/O validation before shop release.
• Calibrate multi-axis robotics, EOAT checks, and network setups.
• Perform real-time diagnostics across PLCs, servos, vision, pneumatics, and safety interlocks.
• Onsite installations, client run-offs, and training of customer personnel.
• Collaborate with mechanical design, project management, and shop teams to isolate issues.
• Track testing hours, manage open issues, and report progress to stakeholders.
