Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Archaeological Field Lead for roles based out of Riverview, FL, Alpharetta, GA, or Mobile, AL. The position involves leading field surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring on a full-time, temporary project basis with travel up to 90%.

Potential conversion to a permanent role exists based on project needs. The role focuses on fieldwork with potential laboratory duties, requires experience in Phase I–III excavations, and supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of archaeological survey and excavation experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory field experience.
• Knowledge of Phase I, II, and III archaeological excavations/assessments.
• Knowledge of prehistoric and historic material culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead archaeological field surveys and testing.
• Oversee a crew during surveys and data collection.
• Record and interpret archaeological data in field and lab settings.
• Coordinate site mapping, datum setup, and units.
• Assist with laboratory analysis and reporting as needed.
