Job summary
Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Staff Field Applications Engineer with deep fiber-optic transceiver and high-speed data-communications expertise to bridge AOI engineering and strategic customers.
You will lead product demonstrations, provide on-site technical support, assist with installations, and collaborate with the design team on custom requests. Travel ~25% and relocation support to Seattle or SF Bay Area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Fiber Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of work experience in Fiber Optics Industry with hands-on fiber optic module design/testing.
- Design optics module experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel and ability to relocate to Seattle or San Francisco Bay Area.
Responsibilities
- Lead product demonstrations and testing at customer sites.
- Provide on-site technical support for Fiber Optics applications.
- Assist customers with installation and configuration.
- Collaborate with Design Team on custom design requests.
- Conduct failure analysis and determine corrective actions.
- Build and maintain relationships with customer's design/testing teams.
