Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions, a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Field Applications Engineer to support optical interconnect and fiber optic solutions in Santa Clara. You will collaborate with engineering, product management, and marketing to drive design wins and revenue growth across AI, HPC, cloud, and data-center applications.

The role emphasizes complex technical sales, customer relationships, and cross-functional teamwork, with a base salary range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of field sales, applications engineering, product marketing, or business development experience.
• Experience in optics, photonics, networking, fiber optics, semiconductor, or related industries preferred.
• Understanding of high-speed networking, datacenter architectures, AI infrastructure, or telecom systems.
• Global account management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide sales leadership and coordinate closely with Field Application Engineers, Product Managers, and Optical Engineering teams.
• Promote and sell optical interconnect solutions including fiber optic assemblies, transceivers, active optical cables, and optical engines.
• Identify optical connectivity opportunities and secure design wins with customer engineering teams.
• Develop and execute territory growth strategies and account plans.
• Meet and exceed revenue objectives through new product adoption and strategic account management.
• Drive customer engagement around AI, HPC, cloud, and networking optical technologies.
• Provide technical sales support during qualification, design reviews, and implementation activities.
• Assist customers with optical architecture evaluations and copper-to-optics migration strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for optical networking and datacenter connectivity solutions.
• Track forecasts, bookings, revenue, and business opportunities.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and support issue resolution.
• Stay informed on silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, and optical networking trends.
• Travel as required.
