Job summary

AEP is seeking a Telecom Consultant Sr in Tulsa, OK to independently plan, design, and develop network systems. You will prepare detailed specifications, configure and test networks, and troubleshoot complex issues across overhead and underground fiber infrastructure.

You will lead projects, coordinate with stakeholders, ensure safety compliance, and mentor teammates while applying engineering and economic analysis to support decisions. This role offers advancement toward Principal level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant work experience, or HS diploma with 4 years of relevant work experience.
• 5 years of relevant work experience in telecommunications field.
• BICSI Outside Plant Designer (OSP) certification strongly preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Solid knowledge of communications technologies and inter-networking principles.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of AEP telecommunications networks, fiber infrastructure and associated technologies to resolve issues.
• Lead and coordinate telecom projects using approved PM processes and tools.
• Inspect, maintain, and safely operate fiber infrastructure assets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems and perform testing and commissioning.
• Collaborate with departments to achieve business objectives and mentor team members.
