Job summary

JSI invites you to join our team as a Network Engineer III on the Broadband IP team in our Charlotte, NC office. You will advance broadband initiatives, work with high-capacity PON platforms, and partner with diverse clients on complex engineering projects.

The role emphasizes fiber access expertise, multi-vendor integration, and executive-level client interaction. A Bachelor’s degree and vendor certifications are required, with 5–8 years of experience in network engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Vendor certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, Calix Expert required.
• 5–8 years of network engineering experience with fiber access.
• Extensive experience with high-capacity PON platforms and core edge integration.
• Ability to translate complex architectures into client recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a solid generalist networking foundation while serving as a SME in fiber access architectures.
• Architect large-scale, multi-vendor PON access networks with core edge routing and IP/MPLS backbones.
• Lead evaluations and platform selection of OLT/ONT vendors for client RFPs.
• Review and approve HLD documents, migration strategies, and technical specs.
• Mentor Level I/II engineers and provide cross-functional engineering support.
• Provide advisory and root-cause analysis for multi-vendor client environments.
