Qualifications

  • Ability to independently perform major repairs and maintenance on marine equipment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to operate large and small equipment, motor vehicles, and tools.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to read, comprehend service and repair manuals, gauges, testing devices and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of marine mechanical equipment.
  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and maintain required maintenance and repair documentation.
  • Generate, complete, and close-out work orders in computer system.
  • Perform time and leave entry.
  • Prepare parts requests.
  • Inspect ferries and docking facilities during Coast Guard safety inspections.
