Job summary

State of Washington Dept. of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a Senior IT Application Developer - Specialist to join the Ferries Technology Services Division in Seattle.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of software development, architecture, systems analysis, database technologies, web development, and enterprise system integration principles.
• Experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting business and operational technology solutions.
• Solid understanding of interfaces, APIs, and data exchange for reliable system interoperability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modernize, implement, and maintain applications, integrations, automation solutions, reports, workflows, and supporting services to support critical WSF business and operational functions.
• Analyze complex business, operational, technical, and regulatory requirements through stakeholder consultation and technical research to develop scalable solutions.
• Create and modify application code, integration components, APIs, automation processes, data transformations, and database objects.
• Coordinate application implementation activities with customers, vendors, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity personnel, and support staff to minimize disruptions.
• Design, develop, support, and troubleshoot complex system integrations, interfaces, authentication services, automated processes, APIs, and data exchanges.
• Investigate, prioritize, and resolve complex production incidents involving applications, databases, integrations, security controls, and performance bottlenecks.
• Plan and execute complex upgrades, software releases, system migrations, and deployment efforts.
• Develop, support, and maintain applications operating within PCI and CDE to protect cardholder data.
• Participate in on-call support, continuity-of-operations activities, disaster recovery efforts, and emergency response activities.
