Job summary

Washington State Ferries (WSF) Technology Services Division seeks an IT Application Developer – Senior/Specialist to design, develop, modernize, and support mission‑critical business and operational systems throughout the SDLC.

The role provides technical consultation to stakeholders, vendors, and project teams, performs complex troubleshooting, and ensures secure, scalable solutions that balance business needs with cybersecurity and long‑term supportability.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of software development and systems integration principles.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies, including C#, .NET, Visual Studio.
• Strong database design and SQL Server proficiency.
• Web development experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modernize, and maintain mission‑critical applications across the SDLC.
• Analyze requirements and implement secure, scalable solutions.
• Create and modify APIs, integrations, and data transformations.
• Coordinate deployments with vendors, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.
• Investigate and resolve complex production incidents and performance issues.
• Support PCI/CDE compliant applications and disaster recovery efforts.
