Job summary

Direct Counsel seeks a FERC Energy & Infrastructure Associate Attorney to join the Energy & Infrastructure team in Washington, D.C. with opportunities for candidates in other U.S. offices.

We seek a mid-level to senior associate (3+ years) specializing in project finance and M&A in the energy sector, with substantial FERC practice, and experience reviewing credit agreements and legal opinions. Renewable energy experience required; wind, solar, or battery storage preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in project finance and M&A in energy.
• Substantial FERC practice experience required.
• Renewable energy experience (wind, solar, battery storage) required.
• Admitted to state bar in relevant office jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Support complex project finance and M&A transactions in the energy sector.
• Advise on FERC regulatory and compliance matters.
• Review credit agreements and legal opinions.
• Negotiate and document power purchase and interconnection agreements.
• Collaborate with project finance, M&A, regulatory and transactional attorneys.
