Job summary

Wayne Farms seeks a Feed Ingredient Buyer to lead sourcing for corn, soybean meal, and other bulk feed ingredients across multiple mill locations.

You will independently manage supplier negotiations, monitor markets, and optimize total delivered cost while ensuring reliable ingredient availability and supply continuity.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with production forecasts and risk management objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in agricultural commodity procurement or feed ingredient sourcing.
• Experience negotiating with producers, brokers, and suppliers.
• Experience managing multi-location commodity supply and logistics across rail, barge, and truck.
• Strong knowledge of price-risk management and hedging concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for corn, soybean meal, and other bulk feed ingredients.
• Manage inbound supply and logistics across multiple mill locations.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, volumes, and freight with suppliers and trading partners.
• Monitor markets, analyze data, and advise leadership on procurement decisions.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and manage supplier relationships.
