Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Federal Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead complex water infrastructure initiatives within the Federal Water Team across the United States. You will guide planning, design, and construction support, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 10 years related experience.
• A minimum 5 years project management experience.
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
• MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus).
• Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and oversee all phases of complex, multidisciplinary projects from planning and design through construction support and project closeout.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining alignment with client objectives, budget expectations, and delivery schedules.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with federal and military clients, serving as a trusted advisor and key point of contact.
• Support business development activities, including marketing efforts, proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and project pursuits.
• Facilitate project planning, design development, and contract document review sessions with clients, technical staff, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate resources and staffing across multiple disciplines to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
• Collaborate with HDR leadership to monitor project performance and drive successful outcomes.
• Implement and oversee QA/QC procedures to ensure technical excellence and compliance with project requirements.
• Support staff development initiatives and implement training programs aligned with HDR's objectives.
• Lead and mentor project teams, including coaching and developing less-experienced Project Managers and professionals.
• Monitor project financial performance and maintain accountability for scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and profitability.
• Maintain professional engineering licensure and stay informed of industry best practices and federal market trends.
• Perform other duties as required.
