Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to oversee government contract activities, ensuring FAR/DFARS compliance and CPSR readiness. Lead subcontract awards, monitor performance, and coordinate with project teams and government representatives to meet program objectives.

You will collaborate with project managers, procurement, and finance to align strategies, and act as a subject matter expert for trainings and capacity building in a matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience managing subcontracts under Prime contracts (Cost Reimbursable, Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials).
• Experience in FAR/DFARS, NDA, TA best practices, CPSR compliance.
• Proficiency in ERP/CLM systems and data analytics, reporting, or tool development.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with minimal oversight.
• Experience supporting Federal Civilian and/or DoD programs.
• CPSR compliant policies, robust documentation, audits support.
• Cross-functional experience in operations or business development preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and make timely decisions.

Responsibilities

• Compile, analyze, and maintain subcontract data and historical documentation.
• Identify and resolve complex subcontract issues independently, engaging stakeholders as needed.
• Prepare and administer subcontract awards, task orders, and modifications per government regulations and Maximus policies.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, addressing disputes, discrepancies, and performance issues.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals based on pricing, capabilities, compliance, and performance history.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and finance to align subcontracting strategies with project objectives.
• Represent the company with subcontractors, suppliers, and government representatives to support business goals.
• Work closely with project managers, procurement, and finance to align strategies with project objectives.
• Serve as a resource/subject matter expert for trainings and knowledge sharing.
