Job summary

Zscaler is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal) in Crystal City, VA. The role is hybrid, reporting to the Manager of Site Reliability Engineering in Government Cloud.

You will maintain operations in classified environments, ensuring a scalable, secure multi-tenant platform for government customers. Responsibilities include deployments, on-call handling, incident management, and building automation with Python, Ansible, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and deployment in cloud environments.
• Active US Government Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of SRE experience.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and network troubleshooting.
• Python coding with container-based architectures (AWS ECS, Kubernetes) and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Manage deployments, on-call duties, incident management for US Government classified products.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure including AWS and private clouds to ensure stability.
• Develop scripts and containerized services to automate operations and reduce outages.
• Drive DevOps best practices with documentation and escalation management.
