Job summary

Concept Plus in Dayton, OH seeks a seasoned Database Administrator to provide senior technical leadership for federal IT systems, focusing on database architecture, performance, and data management. The role requires experience with DevSecOps, Oracle, Java, and AWS cloud environments; Air Force DISA deployments are referenced.

You will work with PMO, Cloud Engineering, and DevSecOps to ensure database performance, availability, and security across all environments, including backups, testing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5–7 years as a DBA.
• 3+ years database management in an AWS Cloud environment (RDS).
• Security+ CE or CCNA Security certification required.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Tune the database, monitor logs, install patches, and provide after-hours incident support.
• Maintain database and configuration on each server or Cloud One hosting area.
• Coordinate firewall access to maintain mainframe/server accessibility.
• Coordinate release schedules with PMO and interfacing partners.
• Install maintenance releases of client applications and resolve anomalies.
• Develop database strategies, monitor performance, and plan for future needs.
• Monitor production systems, ensure secure environments, and address STIGs.
• Prepare software release packages for migrations to newer COTS versions.
• Modify database structures based on approved software changes.
• Facilitate backups and assist with data restore and testing preparations.
