Job summary

Arctic Peak, an Akima company, seeks a Project Manager to direct Federal construction programs in the Pittsburgh region. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage safety, quality, schedule, and cost, and coordinate with government customers and subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep federal contracting knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest construction

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Construction / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or similar discipline.
• Specialty inspection training and licenses/certs highly desired.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing construction projects, 5 years of which must be Federal construction projects.
• Thorough working knowledge of Federal contracts and safety standards is essential.
• Must be able to read, speak, understand and write English.
• Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent are highly sought after.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Estimation, Post Award Kick-Off, Partnering, Pre-construction, Design Development, and Coordination meetings.
• Ensure that construction begins only after final design and submittals are approved.
• Manages a team of professionals including Safety Manager, Scheduler, Estimator, and Site Superintendent.
• Directs execution of all project phases from identification to closeout, including as-built drawings.
• Engages subcontractors to make financial and execution decisions to meet contract specs.
• Manages multiple projects with cost control and on-time delivery per budgets and schedules.
• Prepares and reviews PWS modifications, resource-loaded schedules for customer review.
• Maintains short-term and long-term schedules and the Integrated Resource Loaded Master Schedule.
• Well versed in Microsoft Project; ensures safety and quality on-site.
• Develops relationships to attract and capture new work; participates in weekly/monthly on-site meetings with government customers.
