Job summary

ASR International is seeking a Construction Inspector to support a major federal design-build project in the Baltimore area. The role requires on-site presence at a federal facility, overseeing electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural work, and ensuring compliance with contract documents, plans, codes, and Client standards.

You will develop an Inspection Plan, perform daily on-site surveillance, review drawings and submittals, track deficiencies, and coordinate with third-party inspectors.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining security clearances.
• 10+ years in construction inspection, quality control, or facilities contract management.
• Extensive QA experience in Maryland with knowledge of local trade capabilities.
• OSHA 10/30 certification required; valid professional licenses preferred (ICC, PE).
• Procore and MS Office experience for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to analyze schedules and verify progress; strong field inspection skills.
• Physical ability to perform site duties and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-construction and progress meetings; document protocols and reporting.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, and project schedules for compliance.
• Develop and maintain an on-site Inspection Plan per work package.
• Perform full-time daily on-site surveillance of construction and demolition areas.
• Inspect materials/equipment on delivery for conformance with submittals.
• Observe specialized work and coordinate third-party inspectors when needed.
• Identify and track deficiencies; maintain a deficiency log and verify corrective actions.
• Monitor safety compliance including PPE, permits, and fall protection.
• Witness tests, startups, system testing, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare daily logs, weekly summaries, and monthly reports with photos.
