Urban Engineers, Inc. in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Construction Inspector to supervise bridge and roadway construction projects and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. You will manage contractor performance and handle submittal reviews and document control.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and thorough field reporting, inspecting elements across structural steel, concrete, masonry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural systems.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Certifications such as Concrete Field, Soils and Aggregates, Hot Mix Asphalt, Work Zone Safety, OSHA 10, and erosion & sediment control are common assets.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor adherence to contract documents and quality control procedures.
• Prepare Inspector Daily Reports and manage submittals and document control.
• Perform construction inspection tasks for structural steel, concrete, masonry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural elements.

Job Summary:

The Construction Inspector will be responsible for the supervision of bridge and roadway construction projects. The successful candidate will manage overall contractor performance to ensure a quality product and maintain designated budget while meeting contract deadlines. He or she will be accountable for submittal reviews and document control.
