Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for construction and environmental projects, with emphasis on federal clients (DoD, DOE, FEMA). The role centers on leading pricing strategies, ROM to detailed estimates, and mentoring teams across BD, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of estimating experience, strong Excel and software proficiency, and solid knowledge of contracts and procurement processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
• 5–10 years in construction/environmental industries, preferably DoD/DOE/FEMA experience.
• Experience estimating with bottom‑up, ROM, and parametric approaches.
• Proficiency with estimating software (InEight, Sage Estimating, RSMeans) and advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of contracts, subcontracts, scheduling, procurement, and change orders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to lead cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of construction cost estimates from planning to final proposal.
• Prepare estimates using limited project information with data and experts.
• Develop ROM, parametric, and detailed bottom‑up estimates for diverse projects.
• Head major proposal estimating efforts across cross‑functional teams.
• Incorporate subcontractor data and cost drivers to improve accuracy.
• Review estimates and mentor other team members in estimating best practices.
